There is currently aggressive, genetic modifications being done to plants to make them produce fish oil. Even though Nature would not have done this for probably a good reason (why ask such a basic question), man is going headlong into this endeavor. The CDC has released its recommendations for prevention of post-operative, surgical site infections. What’s interesting is what is missing. Probably the most important aspect of healing is the improving the patient’s health before and after surgery. Although a comprehensive nutritional program is ideal for surgical patients, it is probably not practical especially in the case of emergency surgery.
